As someone who greatly prefers Android as an operating system, it nevertheless annoys the s*** out of me that once an Android phone is about 2 years old, it becomes buggy and runs like s***, no matter who makes it. It has gotten better than it used to be - My Z Fold 2 is 1.5yrs old and still feels fine, but they never quite feel as snappy as a 2 year old iPhone would.

I have a note 5 and it's still going strong.

The Note 5 / S6 generation is unique because Samsung actually used their in-house CPU even in America, and in that specific generation their CPU was almost two years ahead of Snapdragon so it aged way better than other Android phones did from that era.

I'm sure it would be a pretty big upgrade, but honestly if your current phone still works for you it should be fine. My s6 edge still remains my all-time favorite phone I've ever owned. The camera on the s6 generation still to this day produces my favorite overall photos.

It seems like my Samsungs outlast my friend's Iphones.

My Galaxy S10E basically runs as well as it did when I bought it almost 3 years ago, since I bought it not long after launch), so I think this problem is starting to be solved. It has definitely been a problem in the past for sure though.

The bigger issue I'd like is to be able to delete Facebook/Instagram/whatever. Not only because I don't want to use Facebook/Insta/etc..., but even if I did, there are more optimized apps out there then the default ones.

Apple literally makes their iphones sabotage their own processor and operating system to be slower and buggier over time so that you will buy a new one

i have the same phone and yeah it's still as snappy as ever

Had a Samsung 8 than still ran for YEARS.

Only reason I upgraded to a 21 was because of battery.

Still lasts longer than Android phones tho.

I still use an S8 Active and I havent found a good replacement yet. It's the pinnacle of phones for me

My provider texted me saying itll be too old come July since they're shutting down 3G...but I got 4G LTE on it

I'm still happy with my Note 10 Plus. I have no complaints and it runs great.

My launch edition Note 20 Ultra runs great on Android 12/One UI 4. I'm sure the 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM has a lot to do with that.

My wife has an iPhone 13 Pro Max and this Note runs alongside it.

My note 9 is still beastly

I have an old Droid 2 and a iPod touch from like 08/09 still at my parents house.

Got the Droid in like 2010 and it basically became unusable by like 2012, but I can still charge up that iPod to this day and it works just as good as it ever did.

Have an old iPhone 6 with a cracked screen that I can still fire up whenever as well.

My iPhone X is 5 years old and it just recently started to show signs of slowing down. But Ive also put this thing through some pretty hard falls.

Yeah, I'm seeing it live right now. I have 2x S20s, one as my secondary main (S21 being my main) and the other S20 just for PS5 Remote Play/Moonlight.

The experience between the two S20s is pretty insane. Tbf, I used the fuck out of the main S20, but still, it's basically falling apart and has tons of issues popping up. While the other is clean as the first day.

I had an issue with my S pen not being detected. Bought a new s pen for a few bucks and that fixed it.

I have a Note 8 that's still basically like new, so idk what TC is talking about

you're at the stage in life where this shouldn't matter to you anymore

just order the new one online and pay the thousand bucks every couple years whenever you feel your old one is slow, it has zero impact on your budget and no longer requires you to make a special trip to get the phone set up

there's no reason to continue budgeting excessively once your career is going. you have more than enough stress coming from the work itself.

I've had my Galaxy S9+ since release and the only thing a little bit worrying is the battery life, but it still works perfectly for me.

I have a pixel 3 and I've been happy with it. I think the only thing to do to it is change out the battery which I can watch a youtube clip for. I'll probably switch it out for the pixel 8 when it comes out by then though.

Ive been happy with my 12 max pro for about a year now. Until I dropped it last week and the back cracked, even with a case. I just cant imagine going back to an android anymore. Apple just makes everything so easy to have and transfer

Can't stand iPhones

Ive had my oneplus 7 pro for like a year or two now and it should last me at least another 3 years unless something catastrophic happens

been using a note 9 since late 2018. the only app that runs like shit is reddit tbh. sometimes it wont load vids and then scrolling through posts become stuttery. rest are fine.

I reckon I couldve used my iPhone X for another 2-3 years to be honest

each update just made it faster

Android never felt like it ran great

iPhones provide a smoother experience imo
