However, everyone on Earth who was alive in 1992 is aware of the reset and in fact remembers everything they experienced between then and 2022; to them, it was 2022 one moment, and the next, they were suddenly where they were at this time/date in 1992. Anyone born after this date in 1992 will have the same happen to them once they're born.

If it happened to EVERYONE, it would probably be mass chaos, as people would try to use it for monetary gain (stock market, sports gambling, etc) causing most monetary markets to crash on their heads.

There's no telling, because while everyone would know of those events, so would the perpetrators, so there's no telling how they would change their plans, or if they would even do it at all this time.

I think it would be more interesting if only some remembered.

If I were the only one sent back it would be surreal in that here in 2022 I'm expecting my nephew to be born around the end of the month but if I went back to February 1992 his father would be a toddler.

That would actually change the course of history soooo much. Like utter chaos. Just about anybody born after 93 would be wiped out of history, and new people would be born instead. Literally nothing would be the same anymore.

And who knows how the stock market would react if everyone knew of all the negative business decisions that would then not happen.

So basically everything you "know to happen" from the last 30 years most likely not happen, and all you'll know is that it did happen in some unknown parallel timeline.

Assuming that they're still born, though. The circumstances would have to be the same for it to happen; otherwise, completely new individuals will be form.

I missed this one, but the only things that could be planned for are natural disasters in most cases. Other than those... Yeah. It's a completely different world.

Hell, all the media made since would either be completely different or slightly different, or just not exist, since they would all have to be recreated off the memory of those who were originally involved.

On a personal level, I'd probably live life with a more confidence, pre-knowing certain aspect of how my personal life played out.

This. Everything would be totally different. And on the subject of preventing 9/11, this means the US government would know where certain key players like Osama Bin Laden already are and probably make a move as soon as possible. It's possible he and everyone else involved would know anticipate this though, and go on the run to a new hideout as soon as possible, too. And even horrible events on a globally smaller scale, like the Columbine shooting for example, might try to be prevented. We'd have people "brought back" to life who now have memories of the event, as well as loved ones who lost them. There'd probably be some swift vigilante justice against the shooters well before they're even in high school.

It really would be chaos. All of history would end up different. I wonder though, would technology end up progressing more quickly than before? Would Jobs end up trying to create an iPhone in the mid-90s?

Nope.

In fact, 1992 is when Bill Clinton was elected into office for the first of his two terms in this timeline. After the shift and everyone taking their 2022 political baggage with them, there's the real chance that H.W. Bush would be reelected.

Not sure how he would feel about 2022 Republicans, though.

I wanna talk to someone who has expertise in law or philosophy about this particular prompt. If you get proof that the perpetrators involved in this incidents actually, y'know, caused them to happen, but before the dates in which they occur, could they actually be liable?

Would they able to be arrested? Doing so would save a lot of lives.

But millions of other people are aware of the concept, and at least a few thousand (probably more) will be familiar enough with the workings, and technically skilled enough, to reproduce it. It'd basically become a race of who can reimplement it first.
