A science based phenomenon. Maybe some disease that effects the human brain and makes them go into a violent rage they can't escape

i think we'll be able to control things through electrical impulses, one day in the future

but i don't think it'll have the results we need to grow as a species. i don't think it'll be useful other than for medical purposes on people who are still alive.

If a disease selectively destroyed the cerebral cortex, you might get something like mindless movement and aggression (see decorticate dogs). Though not sure if anyone would call that a zombie.
