Paid lunch would be nice, but we don't even have mandatory unpaid breaks nationwide yet. The very concept of a break is optional in some states.

It is optional in my state. That's never stopped any of my employers from insisting I take breaks and lunches. I've worked for a lot of trashy corps, like Comcast. Everyone single one of them insisted I take a break despite not having to give me one.
Literally not an issue.
