There was something pretty hype about arriving into a new town in the original games. I can't explain it. But I know which one I think was the best.

Not sure how I would rate them. Celadon is the best in terms of content. Then maybe Fuchsia because the Safari Zone.

If we're talking the BGM, then Pallet or Vermilion.

As a nostalgia thing, I have better memories for the towns before Rock Tunnel. I guess because afterwards the map opens up a bit and I didn't remember myself particularly in one place.

They're all fairly disappointing in terms of layout. It wasn't until Ruby and Sapphire that the overworld became more developed (at the cost of dungeons) but in terms of towns, most of them have always been simple.

never get tired of leaving mt. moon and entering cerulean which feels lile a gateway to the world at large, the best feeling after that is leaving rock tunnel into lavender but the town itself is so incredibly lacking imma give it to C

Fuchsia

I don't know. Other than the gyms, most towns don't stand out on their own. Vermillion has some cool surrounding areas, Cerulean has the bridge battle (and a very special cave), and Celadon has a lot of attractions.

In a weird way, Saffron is so huge yet so barren. It's a large area but you can't enter many buildings.

Cinnibar is fucking tiny.

I'm going to have to think about it.

there's not really much to any of them to warrant a favorite. fuschia, i guess?

Celadon then Saffron for me.

Pallet Town and Celadon City are the tunes that get stuck in my head the most

Having only watched the anime, I've always liked Cinnabar Island best.
