And going through the comments section and seeing how these people interact in their natural habitat. For a real deep dive, find a particular user who is really fucking nuts and read through their userpage for some pure unadulterated nonsense.

It's sort of like how people are into true crime podcasts but these people haven't gone on a serial killing spree yet.

I'll give you an example: On a subreddit about the rawprimal diet (people who basically eat raw meat and virtually nothing else), I found a guy who's solution to his hair thinning slightly was to shave off all of his hair and sit in a butter bath every night. Quite literally rubs himself in butter. His personal page is part discussing his raw primal diet, part defending nazi fascism and part going around trans subreddits insulting the userbase.

Does anyone else do this? I appreciate the irony.

No, I dont do that.. butter is expensive

It's easy. Just think of some sort of wacky behaviour and guaranteed there is a subreddit for it.

There's even subreddits to various drugs, because it's not enough for people to occasionally do cocaine - on reddit they need to discuss it in detail like it's an entire personality

Yes, actually, but I feel a little uncomfortable about those subreddits because as much as I enjoy this hobby of mine privately, as soon as you start to create a subreddit for it it just feels like sad bullying

I stumbled upon a subreddit that was like, adults with imaginary friends. But they seemed to be convinced that these imaginary friends were alternative personalities. And then there were questions like, "is it unethical to date my own alternate personality?"

Pretty fucking deep, so I'll just stick to saying that mancy is just a fancy way of saying divination/control at this point, so like how Necromancy would be control of the dead or Pyromancy is control of the flames, Tulpamancy would be creating and controlling Tulpas.

Such is reddit, a place where someone's entire posting history is on public display. It's hardly stalking when someone puts all their raw thoughts into the public domain.

maybe "stalking" is a strong word, but i can't summon up anything else to describe what you said you do. how do you care this much? how do you have nothing else more interesting to do? if ever there were indication of being "terminally online," this shit's it. like woooo reddit sideshow freaks, let's read months-worth of what they post. get a damn life

I'll give you an example of how this plays out in my sad little life:

I was reading a thread on weightlifting rack pulls. The OP was a genuinely strong weightlifter for her bodyweight and everyone was being positive about it. Then one guy weighs in that reddit is full of white knights and that her form is shit and that rack pulls are pointless. I mean this was a lot of wrong to unpack in one sentence.

So I clicked his profile and spent a minute or two looking at his post history. I mean this was just fascinating. In 2 minutes the context of his original comment became crystal clear: the guy is a 50 year old divorcee who spends all of his time posting on incel and women hate subreddits. He also takes steroids and has really crappy lift numbers despite that.

I mean sure, it would have just been better to not do any of that, but remember - my life is sad and small.

If you want to read about weirdos and crazy people, and see the weirdos who track those weirdos, just go to Kiwifarms or something.

I haven't looked at figurines the same after accidentally finding a certain subreddit

TC may find the Subreddit Drama subreddit rather interesting. It is a subreddit dedicated to the drama of other subreddits and they love their popcorn. Using popcorn as their banner is quite fitting.
