My region also has a solid food game, there is really no reason to go to a chain. Also, I am of the opinion that one good restaurant supports another...which is to say, if people see you town as a place to get food then all quality places well be supported. Most local places are fucking awful and, if I'm traveling through an area, I'm going to bother trying to separate the wheat from the chaff -- particularly when I've had food poisoning from local places, which hasn't been the case with any chain (except Wendy's, although that's fast food) Honestly, a lot of the prejudice against chains is fucking stupid. You have a lot of regional chains which are just local places / family restaurants with more locations. And all of those only got to be chains because they were good. The belief that a restaurant is better for having one location instead of five or ten is a juvenile opinion.
