Takeoff is neat. Landing goes by pretty quick.

Everything else is just kinda boring, sitting in place for a long time. Make sure you bring something to do during the flight.

I went to Antarctica for a job, the flight from New Zealand to Antarctica was amazing. It was terrifying and beautiful. Looking out the window at the glaciers, knowing if the plain crashed we were all gonna die instantly or freeze to death.

Death isn't certain in a plane crash, it's just incredibly likely.

Okay, seriously:

When you take off, the engines will roar really loudly. Pretty soon after they will cut way back and you might think the engines died. They didnt. First, it takes more engine power to get off the ground initially. Second, most communities have noise ordinances that require it. Unless you take off over the ocean, youll likely hear that engine cut-back. Dont worry; the engines didnt die.

Turbulence is totally normal but can be scary. The plane can shake a lot. That is normal. If its windy, the plane also can rock a lot. That also is normal.

Sometimes planes start to land and then have to lift up again and come back around. This is not common but does happen. Dont worry if it happens to you.

Oh, yeah, its also totally common for the lights in the cabin to go off and on multiple times. It doesnt mean theres a problem.

If you really fear panicking, consider taking some sort of calming agent, even a sleeping pill if you dont have to drive.

It was crazy, the place airport the airport was when I showed up in October ended up being the harbor by the time I left. They had to move the airport from when I showed up to when I flew out. The Coast guard came in with an icebreaker and I got to go on it and see whales and penguins swimming by the ship. It was fucking awesome.

Ya until I got down there. You work 60 hours a week at 7.25. You get taxed for working 60 hours a week because its an American company. But you dont get overtime because your not working on American soil.

60 hours a week and barely 300, not as great as it sounds

Gum. Bring gum to chew during takeoff and landing.

Throw some headphones on or in, get a nice playlist going, take a snooze. 2 hours is nothing. Youll get up in the air, get a soda or bag of nuts, listen to a few songs or watch a show and youll start landing.

Bring some headphones and listen to tunes or something, because you're gonna be in line for a LONG TIME, because of unruly passengers or COVID CHECKS...

Maybe even switch or some kinda portable console...

I mean a two hour flight isn't bad, but you probably won't have any interest in whatever they're media they have (if there are any tvs on your side)...

2 years I sat next to a 300-400 lb couple. Flying in coach at that time and it sucked because I was in the aisle seat, but I had to be scootched as much to the aisle as possible or Id be cuddling the whole time. That dudes fat was hanging over his seat and taking up a quarter of my seat <_<

For me it's not the person who's next to you...
It's usually either someone who's behind you or in front of you!
Can't stand people who kick my seat or put their legs ontop of the empty seat near me...

If it's a kid doing it, fine I'll endure it...
But a fully grown adult being a dick just for the shits and giggles? Fuck that
