I wasnt familiar with the stature of the brand until this topic, its kind of wild now that I learned about it seeing people abandon something so dear to them because they are just that anti-vax.

It's only strange if you've lived in the northern half of rural America for any length of time over the past couple decades yet have never heard of Carhartt. If that's the case, then yeah, you've been living under a rock a wee bit.

Ultimately, all you need to know is that this a huge brand name for the exact type of people you'd imagine would throw a self-righteous hissy over their freedumbs being infringed upon.

My impression of Carhartt is that it has two kinds of customers: the people who buy it because they want yeehaw cred, and the people who buy it because they live in cold places and Carhartt is about as warm as they come.

Its more for construction workers and shit really. If you just want warm clothes there's way better options than carhartt. If you want good work shit carhart is great though.

I've recommended Carhartt jackets to friends in the past, especially if they're moving to colder weather. Even if you don't plan on doing much rough outdoor work, it's something that you'll be glad you kept in your trunk if you ever have car trouble in inclement weather.

They're quite durable too. I used to roughhouse with my 180-pound Newfoundland back when we lived on the farm and would let him chew on my arms while wearing it. Never got so much as a tear.
