so the stuff you generally drive cars with and where plastic comes from is apparently due to an important resource on Earth called oil which is refined into things like gasoline. Anyway... the USA has five years of oil reserves and therefore they import a lot. https://www.worldometers.info/oil/us-oil/#oil-reserves Some countries have more but basically the entire world will run out of oil within 47 years. https://www.worldometers.info/oil/ How do you feel about this? Should we buy a bunch of oil because as it gets more scarce obviously the price will go up without a mass conversion to electric vehicles in the next 20-ish years. --- Now or never. ... shironinja posted... How do you feel about this? aware that all estimates of oil reserves neglect shale deposits, because shale oil quantities have not been measured accurately we don't actively pursue it because it's more expensive, but when other deposits run out, the consequence will simply be "things get more expensive" my concern with oil is simply that burning it at the rates we do is ending the holocene epoch and the subsequent droughts and famines will result in much more war in the future --- LittleBigPlanet is like merging dress-up with a real game. ...
