KFC is adding plant-based chicken to its menus nationwide this week.

Last week, the Kentucky-based chicken chain announced the impending arrival of its new Beyond Fried Chicken, developed by meat substitutes company Beyond Meat exclusively for KFC. The Kentucky Fried Miracle will debut at participating restaurants on Monday, Jan. 10.

Linda McCartney southern fried chicken burgers I think. First bite I was like "eh it's alright" but then by the end I felt ill and continued to do so for the rest of the night. Just in a nauseated "that wasn't something I should have eaten" way. Not in a "my stomach is protesting" way.

Yeah, every time I try veganuary I tell myself "no fake meat, it always sucks" then I inevitably try some kind and it either makes me give up or at the very least ruins a day or two with how joyless it is.

KFCs parent company, Yum! Brands, which also owns Taco Bell and Pizza Hut, has entered into an agreement with Beyond Meat to launch more products, including a plant-based carne asada at Taco Bell.

Plant-based meat has come a long way.

There is a brand called Gardein that is very tasty. Beyond Meat is another company that continues to improve its products.

Quorn "chicken" patties are pretty good. They taste better than Tyson frozen chicken nuggets at any rate but I wouldn't say they taste like "actual meat"

I've heard a lot of my family sing the praises of vegetarian chicken nuggets. "It tastes more like chicken than actual chicken nuggets". But I think the egg they tend to have helps a lot with flavour. Good plant based ones are rarer, although my family had some vegan ones the other day they didn't mind.

They're alright. I wouldn't clock it as fake cheese, but it doesn't really resemble mozzarella either. Creamy and oily.

I dunno, I feel like it needs at least one more color. Maybe some red peppers, or some kind of sauce on the 'meat'.

Not to say corn on the cob isn't excellent completely plain, but for a photograph it needs some kind of melted butter/margarine/substitute melting into the crevices.
