Jak & Daxter was solid. Jak II was infuriating to play and turned me off from even trying the third game

I liked the first. The changes in the second and third kept me from ever trying them out.

Fixed

Jak & Daxter is worth playing
Jak 2 is basically PoP Warrior Within, but worse

They were alright, Ratchet and Clank was way better though and didn't switch genres midway through the way Jak & Daxter did(Ratchet Deadlocked came close).

Jak & Daxter is one of the finest paltformers of its time.

Jak II jumped on the GTA bandwagon and turned him into a typical angsty anti-hero that was all the rage back then, is considerably more difficult, the city is essentially a circular maze instead of a true free-roam enviroment, and... well, it's actually a decent game, all things considered.

Jak 3 is not as difficult, the free-roam areas are more freeroamy, Jak is not as brooding any more, and unlike the rest of the series, the soundtrack is pretty memorable.

Then there was Jak 4. Er, no Jak... Racer? Hold on... Jak X? What an incongruous name. It's a kart racer with rubber band AI and weapon pick ups, where even Jak's friends and allies will blast him into pieces because that's how the game's AI is programmed to be like. Also, it has Ratchet as an unlockable character, and that was awesome!

The PSP spin offs, though. Daxter was perfectly fine. The other one, I don't know the name of, I heard it was mediocre.

1-3 and X are great. Never played Daxter.

I don't think most of the fanbase was even aware of Lost Frontier, and that's for the best.

Some of the best experiences I had growing up were within that trilogy. The story, the characters, all of it was amazing.

And then somehow ratchet and clank was even better.

Jak and Daxter was great.

Jak 2 was lackluster and an unnecessary genre shift that tried marrying some GTA to the old J&D platforming and make it feel awkward.

Jak 3 learned a bit from Jak 2 and made a lot of improvements, but still had flaws.

Jak X: Combat Racing was a Jak 3 minigame turned into a full blown game and not that fun.

The Lost Frontier was a tire fire.

Loved Jak 1.

Couldn't get more than 2 hours into Jak 2, and I tried twice. I understand why they had to change it so much, but those changes just didn't do it for me

Jak and Daxter was great if a bit on the easy side. I don't remember much about Daxter besides really enjoying it. IIRC it felt closer to an actual J&D2 compared to J2.

I couldn't get into Jak 2 & 3. Jak 2 traded charm for edginess and also had some mission towards the beginning that beat me into submission so I stopped playing. Jak 3 seemed interesting but I think the focus on gunplay turned me off.

Loved the three main games. I actually gave up after a few hours with J&D. Picked up Jak2 and after a few hours enjoying the story so much, replayed and beat J&D so I wouldn't miss a thing.

I was literally the target audience though, and it all was perfect to me.

The cars, the guns, the dark transformations. Loved it all.

Then Jak X came out and I just wanted more story. Without it being all about kart racing. :/

Oh man, that fucking on-rails turret mission. I was never able to beat it. My friend at the time did it for me so I could proceed, but on subsequent playthrough never got passed it again.

I like Jak and Daxter. It was a good time. Decent story for a platformer, and it was a fairly easy game to 100%.

I'm the odd man out here, but I loved Jak II and all the changes that came with it. It was super edgy, but that was common in media of that era.

I only ever played Jak III once or twice a long time ago, but I remember liking it in general and the way it capped off the main saga.

I liked Daxter, but it's pretty much in the same boat as Jak 3.

I own Jak X: Combat Racing, but I haven't played it.

Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier is a miserable stain on the franchise that no one should ever play. If someone you love buys this game for you, they do not love you back. In fact they probably hate you.

First game was the best of the series. Did a lot of things right.

Jak II I didn't mind the GTA type stuff and darkness, but the difficulty killed it. Not a bad game, but nowhere good as its reception.

Jak 3 improved on difficulty, though it was still frustrating a bit. Doesn't get to where the first was however.

Jak X should have been a Twisted Metal game. Not bad, but not good either.

Never played Daxter, but I do have the other game on PSP, but never played it.

I was replaying it recently and that shit was definitely the most frustrating part. My friend was doing a replay of it a couple of days ago and that's where he rage quit.

It wasn't bad, but it was nothing special. Felt like a very generic 3D platformer that only got popular because of aggressive marketing.

Game in the series that released for both the PS2 and PSP, because that always goes over well.

First of all, it wasn't made by Naughty Dog, which is a red flag right off the bat.

Next, it's basically just a more confining Jak II, but without Dark Jak. Nothing that happened in 3 really mattered, either.

It was announced on April 1st like it was a fucking joke, and years later, I wish it had been one.
