I mean, yes, when a resource is limited, you should distribute on the basis of need. That's not controversial, is it? I suppose it is, because people get pissed at things like FAFSA and welfare.

"Minorities" are everyone too stupid to get a shot? I'm pretty sure you're overexaggerting the numbers. Pretty shitty to use minorities as a political tool on an issue wher there should be no politics.

I dont feel like giving a history lesson and going back and digging up numbers on who was vaccinated at what point when rules were in place

But, no, there are groups that have had a bad run in the past in regards to the government and health services over their race. They're not stupid when theres a track record of trauma in their communities

But I always say these things should be more concerned with economic disparity, not racial disparity. There are white people living in poor, primarily black communities, too.

Basically, it seems like a verbose and half-honest way of saying "We prefer to treat people who are part of minority groups instead of white people, because of white privilege"

It's a statement from "the city Department of Health and Mental Hygiene"

Blacks and Hispanics also happen to be the most vaccine hesitant group, while Asians and whites are the most vaxxed group. If they wanna hit the poorest areas as well as the most hesitant, I'm fine with this.

But they hammered everyone with rules and excluded them from participating in activites and then took away their ability to provide for themselves or family. While the intention of this dodnt have racist intentions, it is a policy that affects certain races more than others, and this info was available at the time.

Very nice of them. If the areas are genuinely void of ability to get a vaccine, that's fine and smart but should have happened before they punished everyone

I have less than zero sympathy for anyone still hesitant about the vaccines. Facts don't care about your feelings. Shouldn't everyone related to people or part of groups jailed by the Nazis also refuse vaccines for the rest of time then? Because some historical instances of medical abuse proves you can never participate in medicine again, even when mountains of data disprove your fears?

Are these people also ignoring school vaccine mandates because of history? What makes COVID-19 special and what do the billions of safe doses administered not prove to them?

The Navajo Nation has about a 70-75% vaccination rate, substantially higher than the national average.

Im pretty sure I see copies of the NY Post available at the gas station when I get coffee in the morning. Ive never picked it up, but their daily covers give me the impression its probably an overtly right wing news source. Im too lazy to read these articles, but I wanted to note my skepticism.

Erm, what happened to the whole screw the anti-vaxxers thing? Now when it's talking about anti-vaxxers of other races, suddenly they should be catered to?

If this was about white people, people would be furious at the idea of them refusing treatment to give it all to the anti-vaxxers and Im someone who thinks people are too harsh on anti-vaxxers.

And I have NO sympathy for anti-vaxxers not being allowed at restaurants, no matter what race they are.

Priority should be vaccinated people then if there is time left for the unvaccinated they can do whatever they want with the priority.

I'm sure they would be but it's a bit different. Trauma usually ends up disrupting two to four generations. Some people have a very real fear of the governments intentions due to.the government (and health services) screwing them

That's fine to go along with for now (I dont see the backed logic behind it for right now. It sounds fine as a hypothesis), but I'm more worried about them taking jobs away over this.
