Just went in a small shopping spree, got myself Wallpaper Engine (for my tablet), Danganronpa and Obra Dinn.

Which in turn made my backlog problem worse.

@ProboBum you sold me on Blue Fire with the Sunshine comparison, going to try it right now.

so far Ive seen about 4 different games; mafia 2, Bioshock infinite, puzzle chronicles , 3 dead zed, .. maybe more but I dunno

Bioshock is a great franchise and I quite enjoyed Mafia II.

My complaint of M2 back when it launched was the lack of things to do once you'd completed the game but looking back, I don't think that's actually a bad thing anymore, not when I see just how padded out and artificially bloated some open world games are today.

Deleted post #369 because either I or the GMG site doesn't know what they're doing...

Prior to today, clicking on free game gave me a 'you have already claimed this' message. Got an email today from GMG stating there were new xp member offers, clicked on link, clicked on 'free game', got a code. After my post, thought to check my purchase history and it only had one instance of Puzzle Chronicles shown, so it seems to be the same key which I've already redeemed.

If anyone wants to chance the key though, lemme know but I don't think it's a new, unused key like I originally did.

Sale ends in a just under a week and I'm torn on whether to pick up Hunt : Showdown or one of the two Rimworld DLCs. Leaning more towards Ideology right now but I'm torn lol.

Nice, great games.

I mod the hell out of FO4 though, probably more so than Skyrim.

Do note, that if you intend to mod Skyrim, you may want to look into which script dependent popular mods have been updated to accommodate the AE update. If they haven't there are plenty of means available through knowing modding discords, as well as info online / via the Nexus on how to run an older build (if I recall, the build right before the AE update hit) in place of the AE one, along with ways to get the best of both worlds, somehow.

If you don't intend to mod, ignore all of the above lol.

I never get to far into Skyrim because I like the Fallout post-apocalyptical setting more than fantasy but for both of them I tend to get a couple dozen hours in and then start modding. Both I believe have unofficial patches that fixes some glitches so if nothing else do those.

Bethesda games are way better with mods, even for first playthroughs.

which proposes modpacks ready to install. You can even automate the process if you have Nexus Mods paid membership (it's like $3 for a month)

If you've never played it before whatsoever, sticking to vanilla is a good way to go. There's no harm in looking into what mods, especially QoL mods you can add to your game safely (can be removed mid-game no issue) during a run through as well. I couldn't play without a perk-tree revamp though because vanilla Skyrim has a solid levelling system accompanied by a laughably boring and unrewarding skill tree. Ordinator is a good one and probably the most popular. There are a few though, depends on how powerful you want to become down the line.

Some mods suffer from a little thing called feature-creep, where a bunch of subtle changes have been made to the game via said mods without being mentioned in the description. Not all of it is particularly bad, bad there are some authors known for being dicks about it, especially when called out for it.

I couldn't go back to a vanilla Skyrim, but I've played it to death at this point. For your first run, vanilla is fine.

Also, Vortex [Nexus Official] is a decent mod manager. MO2 is better, but for somebody new to modding that doesn't want to take the time to learn, you can't go wrong with it.

While I didnt hate NV I rank it at the bottom for the 3. I put mine 3>4>NV which is basically sacrilege in most places but thats my preference so hopefully you get a lot of mileage out of FO4. Its gameplay is the best of the bunch by far.

Thats what i like to hear! I dont know why so many people enjoyed NV. It was big and boring. Traversing the world felt like such a slog.

Funnily enough, I very much dislike Fallout 3, one of the worst entries into the franchise for me. New Vegas sits up top next to Fallout 2.

Fallout 4 is similar to Fallout 3 in that in foregoes good writing and a solid RPG foundation in place of better shooting mechanics (they hired ID from DOOM to help after all) and it nails exploration, it's also great that they found a way to make junk, normally only good for contextual story telling but not really of value, incredibly useful both for base building and upgrading / improving your gear.

FO3's best qualities for me come from it's world and exploration, which NV fails at, but that game shines with it's writing, RPG elements & characters instead.

If you liked FO3, you'll likely love FO4.

I turned my FO4 via modding into a FO / STALKER / Chernobylite hybrid lol.

I installed FONV on my XSX the other day, i was thinking about giving it another shot ... Then I started playing Control and got sucked into that, lol. Pretty good so far....

SAME!! I used to play fingerstyle acoustic when I was a kid, and then completely stopped when I got to college, and never picked it up again until later this year. I was listening to TTFAF while I was at work and doing air guitar when I just suddenly got hit with the nostalgic feeling of making music with my own 2 hands. Then I went on to watch David Gilmour's epic 5 minute Comfortably Numb solo and it was all history then. I got up and bought my first electric guitar and I have been learning how to play it every day. Doing bends is extremely fun! :D

That's awesome! I am still in the super noob levels of learning. Mostly because when I first got my guitar I got frustrated super easily and put it down and pick it up...and repeat. This time I want to actually dedicate my time to learning. Nobody ever picked up an instrument and instantly became a virtuoso. I hope you're having a fun time getting back into it yourself! :)

@synklare Unfortunately I do not, just the base game. I have heard that the contents of Royalty can be added in via mods, though I'm not sure which mods. Ideology basically adds beliefs and religion to your colonists. I have heard that you need to start a new game if you add the Ideology DLC as otherwise it will randomly assign religion and beliefs to your colonists and cause all sorts of strife.
