The COVID-19 vaccine is effective for the individual, yes. But not those around the individual.

We have accepted two truths:

  1. The COVID-19 vaccine is effective at preventing more severe sickness for the individual.
  2. The COVID-19 vaccine does nothing to inhibit the spread of the virus.


If we accept these two truths, then where does the concept of COVID-19 vaccine mandates come from? If the individual chooses not to vaccinate himself/herself, they are not harming those around him/her. As we've established, the COVID-19 vaccine does not stop the spread.

It doesn't stop the spread but it can weaken/lessen the symptoms one can experience.

One of those symptoms potentially being death.
