Given the fact the demands of the employees are typically standard expectations in employment, I hope they did, although that's just one store of a giant company. Not one of their demands seem asinine.

it was a neighborhood market, so nowhere near as much damage as this would have done at a supercenter, but yeah.

walmart can get motherfucked.

There's no way they're gonna allow workers to form unions. My experience working there is that they're firmly anti-union.

Walmart Neighborhood Market is a grocery store. Afaik grocery stores don't do anything for Black Friday, so I doubt this did much to their revenue. Still good.

Walmarts around me are already paying $15 an hr... so I guess it's up to each individual walmart to set its own pay rate?? Also, the same people that were complaining about not getting paid enough are still lazy and still have the same work ethic, despite getting what they wanted. Shocker

No, I get tired of seeing lazy people cry about payrates then still work like a trash $8 an hr employee. I pay my employees $18 - $20 an hr, which is realistic. At most, many of the people striking aren't worth $15 an hr. I didn't like walmart paying me $9 an hr 10 years ago, so I left to go to a job that paid me $15 an hr, then outgrew that and now make 6 figures. I don't have a college degreee either... purely hardwork and drive, and networking.

you don't understand, the idea is to pay employees more than what their labor is actually worth and to make it harder to fire people so that the pothead that shows up half the time and fucking sucks at what he does is treated the same as some kid with drive and a willingness to work

A fast food worker that sells thousands of dollars of product gets paid far below the worth of their labor.

There's no odds to it. I had years of failures, but I never gave up. Most people give up because they're not willing to fight through adversity.

My GF is a manager at walmart, who started at a time in the company when 7.25 an hr was the minimum. She saw Walmart go from that to 10 an hr and now to 15 an hr, and still, the same people who complained and stuck through the increases remain with the same poor work ethic and attitude. This is my criticism towards those complaining about payrates: their work habits and culture didn't change, despite some nearly receiving almost double their previous rate over the past few years.

It's a neighborhood market, they only really sell food. They should have done it Wednesday when everyone was freaking out buying shit they knew they needed all month. And then getting angry it was sold out.

Doesn't matter, Walmart will call the store an under performer and close it to some the problem.

Unlike most, I don't worry about the ultra rich, nor do I care how much less I have than them. I simply work within the system (capitalism) and "play the game" that its rules has in place. And no, I don't exploit anyone for my profits, nor did I ever exploit anyone to get my networth. In fact, my employees love me and I do a lot for them, and I take care of them because I know how vital they are to my operations.

I had the safety net to fail a fuckton and now I dont respect people who dont have that sure is a bootlicking take

I never had a safety net... i lived as poor and cheaply as possible, and saved my money to where I could do route sales and built up my credit score. It took me nearly a decade to do so. I lost money and time within that decade going to a junior college, until I met people who taught me and showed me how to find a different path. If anything, meeting those people was the "luck" factor in my life.
