Getting depressed sometimes when you realize how alone you are.

Most people choose secure sex over freedom.

Depends on what you want really. At 35, since im working on a comic book the demands 12 hour days, I cant attend to a girl that needs attention all day. So I broke it off with my girl (albeit subtly, basically stopped giving attention till she found someone else, took 6 months but she finally found someone else.)

If youre in a relationship where you dont have freedom to do what you want, when you want then youre not in a good relationship. Obviously some concession is expected. This whole im single now I can do whatever I want!..you couldnt do things while in a relationship? The only thing you cant do is fuck other people but you wont be doing that much single either, lets not kid ourselves.

I make the best out of being single but I do miss being in a relationship sometimes though. It's been numerous years since I had one.

I'm spending way more on going out and doing activities since I started dating. Museums, rock climbing, restaurants, gas for driving to parks and events.

And then you are expected to pay for them no less.

It forces you to be more self-sufficient? You have to learn how to cope with the loneliness (and other negative feelings that may develop from being single), which can make you a stronger person overall. I've seen some people that can't function without being in a relationship.

it's not just about sex though. You share companionship and sharing social experiences you otherwise couldn't have being single.

I think if you are too single for too long by choice (and you want to get into a relationship), you become more actually awkward. I don't think you necessarily become a stronger person being by yourself. You have to learn to rely on yourself and you do learn a lot from someone else.

I do agree about being independent and not relying too much in your partner though.

It's more like we're not used to having it being raised and lowered all the time like men. You raise it to pee, lower it to go #2, but for us it's all the same... so we're used to just sitting down and going, especially when we're half asleep not thinking.
