They put a metal armrest in the middle of the benches for one reason: So people who are down on their luck can't even lay down at night to sleep. Isn't that messed up?

Where I live, there used to be a greenbelt of trees down the road where homeless had a camp. The city cut down all the trees just to fuck with the homeless and kick them out. This happened a few years ago, and still nothing has been done with the cleared land. It was all just to be cruel

Most of the time those can be removed with an allen wrench. I may or may not have one of the specific sizes necessary to do so on my keyring.

There's no need to treat people as animals who don't even deserve to snatch a few hours' sleep with a small amount of human comfort, because of their crime of not having anywhere to live. What a Christian fucking country.

I know a lot places removed the shelters. And for many different reasons. One reason could be so no one gets hurts. People will break the fuck out of the sometimes. Which is probably why the bus stops in my city dont have them anymore But also, the picture looked like a regular city bench (well, other than being a really shitty bench). And I havent seen many of those with shelters at all
