Yes. We usually sat in the smoking section since there was rarely a wait there. One time my dad took me to a small diner and I remember watching the waitress smoke one cigarette after another.

Yeah. I remember going to Hardees with my dad many mornings and smelling and breathing in all the cigarette smoke from all the old people who hung out there every morning and my dad. I kinda miss it in a weird way. Going into old buildings and into casinos and smelling the stale smoke smell is oddly relaxing to me. I used to be a smoker though. Overall I'm still glad smoking has been banned in most places.

I was just visiting one of my favorite places in Virginia last week where smoking is still allowed. Man that shit sucks.

Yeah. The best places had the smoking section separated by a glass wall. Not only was the air relatively clear in the non-smoking section, it was funny to look into the smoking section during busy times and see Stephen Kings The Mist.

No, I smoke too much reefers.

I wasnt old enough to smoke in them but I remember the little square glass that magically killed all second hand smoke.

The two restaurants my family would always go to back in the day had these smoking sections that fucking reeked. I would always complain. I'm glad they've been phased out.

I do. And in work places and greyhound buses and airplanes. One of my first jobs was at a PC repair shop and everyone smoked. So did I, but I could never handle smoke inside.

I remember as a kid a lot of pets dying of cancer because most smokers smoked in the home back then. Kids and pets second hand smoking two packs a day.

I used to go to the market and get moms smokes. No lie. Back then, smokes would be in an aisle in the grocery store. When I started, I mostly stole for my habit. Most kids I knew back then did. It was certainly a different era. Late 70s, early 80s.

Yes.i even recall smoking in a BK once.and I was old enough to smoke. It was one of the last hold outs on vanning it I guess. I remember a gas station though that until it got bought out allowed smoking in it or at least the employees did. Gas station up the road from me just a couple years ago literally had a lighter on a string attached to the door for customer use but Idk if it was meant for just lighting one on your way out.

I'm a smoker and I don't really care about it not being allowed aside from the fact the strongest urge to smoke always comes after eating for me. Which is only ever a problem when im with a group cause there is always one person who eats much slower than me.

I remember hostesses asking smoking or non-smoking. Even though I like the current smoke free restaurants the quote is oddly nostalgic.

My father, sister, and I walked into a Bob Evans. My father said we'd like to sit in the nonsmoking section. The server said that they didn't have a smoking section anymore.

Yes, I hated it. I couldn't take people smoking indoors as a kid. All the cigarette smoking while waiting for food.

I'm guessing this isn't including hookah bars, since those places are still open by the way? I love those.
