I know C6 is basically a gimmick and not really necessary... Trying to decide if the potential for losing up to $800 is worth it (it isn't).

Yeah, honestly the C1 alone makes swapping much easier and C3 + C4 is the big DPS upgrade. C6 basically has no impact on DPS nor does it really change how he's played... Not sure if I should go for it.

Got 29/30 electroculi. The last one seems to be in the underwater ruins behind a mural that requires items to unlock (I don't think they're available yet). I have Tsurumi at 70% completion.

BTW is it just me or do the 10+ talents for Tartaglia scale ridiculously.

iirc Tartaglia has great talent scaling, yes

Wish Mihoyo had some kind of system to guarantee usefulness of talents (without screwing players over of course).
For example Raiden normals, Kokomi normals and Sucrose normals are all garbage. Meanwhile Klee benefits from all talents.

Maybe give normal attack talents resistance shred at lv7 - lv10, or have them increase the attack range.

Did a 10 pull and got Yanfei to c6... then decided to not pull the rest of this patch. Since I'm getting close to pity would rather use it on Albedo rerun to get his c2 instead of Childe c3. Thoma can wait for another banner since he's not going anywhere and don't want to risk getting a worthless Hu Tao on my acct.

I imagine it actually vastly outdps in scenario where you have large groups of dense enemies all hitting each other with riptide but that's not an average scenario.

Didn't they say that at higher refinements it's better, or am I mistaken?.

Speaking of which, I think I can have about 60-70 fates banked by Hu Tao's banner. I'm not going to spend money to get her because I simply don't need another DPS, but she seems like a pretty good character to do at least save the free Fates for.

My constellation reviews, for anyone interested in possibly whaling on our HydroBro

C0 - Childe at is great at C0, and probably the most F2P friendly 5-star in the game as he synergizes well with common F2P players like Xiangling, Bennett (even C6!), Fischl, etc. He functions best as a rapid hydro applicator for reaction compositions, and in that capacity he's one of the best support DPS characters in the game. Requires minimal investment in this capacity.

C1 - A 20% CD reduction on his E doesn't sound like much on paper, however in practice it rather dramatically improves his swapping potential as a Sub DPS. His team compositions feel much more comfortable at C1 than C0 because he can stay out longer without paying a huge price in cooldown wait time.

C2 - Childe gets energy when defeating enemies. This is similar to Keqing's C2, but in practice this constellation isn't all that helpful until further down his constellation pipeline, as we'll get to later.

C3 - Childe's E gains 3 levels. This is actually a very substantial increase in DPS - even more so than other 5-Star characters (except maybe Raiden). Nearly all of Childe's damage comes from his E melee attacks, which is significant enough as it is. However, what really sets his C3 apart is his damage scaling at very high talent levels. He becomes exponentially more powerful as a DPS with higher E talent levels due to his natural quadratic DPS scaling, but the jump in damage from Lv 10 to Lv 13 is anywhere from 30-50%, depending on how you're playing. This is more significant than getting him a 5-star bow or ascending him to 90. C3 is the constellation where Childe can essentially transition to a Main DPS role, though I wouldn't recommend stopping here if you're dead-set on doing this. In my experience, his Main DPS output at Talent Lv 13 is roughly equivalent to Ganyu's, but his issue is sustainability. He cannot remain on the field or swap in/out as easily as Ganyu.

C4 - Every 4 seconds, enemies inflicted with Riptide will proc a Riptide Flash. This is similar to what happens when you shoot enemy inflicted with Riptide. Essentially, it causes periodic damage over time, similar to a poison. Opinions are mixed on his C4, and you'll find about as many people who think C4 is a massive buff, while others think it significantly nerfs his vape composition potential. Personally, I think it's neither. As a pure on-field main DPS, by C4 Childe does so much damage that the riptide flashes are more or less negligible.
There is significant value in taser comps, however, as the riptide flash procs Raiden's E and essentially allows for a rather humorous composition where you can group enemies together, inflict riptide, then let the riptide proc Raiden's electro attack, then allow that to inflict electro-charged automatically, which spreads as an AOE, then when enemies explode they inflict riptide on the enemies around them, causing this to keep going indefinitely. It's basically a chain reaction that wipes out everyone.

C5 - Childe's Q gains 3 levels - This is extremely good for ranged burst ult Childe (basically one-shot vape compositions) because the damage multipliers on Childe's ranged and melee ult are among the highest in the entire game. At Lv 13, his ranged ult does 900% damage, and his melee ult does 1,100 damage. But what makes this especially good is because Childe's ranged ult is effectively only costs 40 energy which makes it extremely powerful and easily spammable.

C6 - Childe's melee Q resets his E cooldown - This is the most controversial constellation, and it boils down to a few things. First, Childe's kit at low investment isn't really great for main DPS, and until Raiden was released, there weren't any persistent on-field elemental reactions that Childe could use to stay on the field longer than 15 seconds. However, several things have changed since April:
First, Childe got a significantly improved weapon selection with Thundering Pulse and now Polar Star, both of which dramatically improve his melee damage.

Second, Raiden and Kazuha were released, both of which improve Childe's Main DPS potential substantially. Raiden's E lasts 30 seconds, and also procs from both Childe's attacks AND his Riptide Flashes, meaning he is essentially the only main DPS with a persistent elemental reaction attack composition that doesn't require swapping out. This is even more useful than it looks, because Raiden acts as a battery for Childe's insanely overpowered melee ult, and in turn Childe spamming his Ult and his C2 energy returns act as a battery for Raiden.

Here's the deal - C6 Childe with Raiden (especially C1 Raiden or higher) is probably the single highest "selfish Main DPS" composition in the game. And that's really cool. It feels incredibly badass. But it's not worth pulling Childe seven times to do damage only slightly higher than a C0 Ganyu. The value proposition simply isn't there. Is it the coolest main DPS this side of C6 Kazuha or C6 Xiao? Sure. But Childe is already so good as a Sub DPS at C0 that anything higher than C1 is really just for people who enjoy playing Childe.

TLDR:
If you're using Childe as his kit is intended, C0 is absolutely fine. C1 helps with QOL but isn't required. If you absolutely love using Childe as a main DPS, it is TECHNICALLY feasible starting at C3 but realistically you should go to C6 for him to be truly viable in the way you want him to be.

Let's calculate on Kokomi with unfinished gear (missing a good circlet)

6100 heal jellyfish every 2 seconds. Let's say it activates the bubble and hits twice.
1200 each normal attack. I don't know her attack speed, but let's say you dash cancel into the enemy and get 5 hits in.

6100*2+1200*5=18200
90% = 16380 damage every 3.5 seconds.
You can also abuse Prototype Amber for more.
You will probably lose damage because the enemy has DEF and Phys Res.

Now, there are 3 very important things to consider.
1. Does the healing effect need to heal? If you cannot use the effect at 100% HP, you would strongly benefit from intentionally eating corrode / bleed and all attacks the enemy throws at you.
2. Does it calculate in all coop characters? If so you can potentially quadruple the damage, making it must-have in coop.
3. Does it calculate off-field characters? If so, corrode and bleed will be beneficial to the user.

Overall, I predict this will be way too situational, but insanely good when the stars align.
Kokomi, Qiqi and Barbara can probably utilize it very well.

The bubble only works onfield, as per usual lines of reasoning, so it really is a Kokomi set. Off field healers will not get anything out of this, which is why it's really Kokomi, possibly QiQi.

It will depends if Overheals count, because you have a full time Jellyfish, and add to her burst, you're looking at a 30%+ increase damage, with no crit rng involved.

It also promotes people to raise Kokomi's talents, since right now, Kokomi doesn't really need very high talent levels to do her job, scaling linearly.

But you do mention a good point, if overhealing works, hydro resonance might become desirable

Holy shit @ what that's gonna do to Noelle

Even with 4pc Bolide she hits for 15k-20k per swing. She has almost 6,000 ATK in her Ult and it'd probably be 8k+ with that set. Pairing her (in that set) with a battery would send her attack into the stratosphere.

It strongly depends on how it's calculated.
It allows maiden+chorus for a bigger HP scaling multiplier on Kokomi.
Kokomi and Qiqi have extreme amounts of overhealing and if overhealing counts for 4set this is a big damage boost for them, especially with hydro resonance active.
