1k steps burns 30-40 calories which means i burn an additional 90-120 calories via movement.

According to this bmr calculator i burn around 2,600 calories per day because i am considered sedentary. If i eat a recommended 2,000 calories per day i will be under 4,200 calories which is a little over 1lb per week and roughly 5lbs per month.

If all i did was raise my daily steps to 10k per day i would burn an extra 600 calories which would mean i would essentially lose around 9-10lbs per month.

Btw. You do not need a fitbit or fancy smartwatch to track this. You just need the google fit app.

My phone literally says I took zero steps today which is strange because even though I didn't go anywhere, I did take a few steps (while holding my phone) when walking from my bedroom to my desk in the living room area.

Stick with it man, if you drink soda or eat a lot of sugar, cutting that stuff on top of it will make you feel a lot better overall in the long run, including the weight loss.

I just want to be 190lbs again. I am currently around 270lbs(i am like 5'9). Being this heavy has taught me to respect those who are overweight, it is a tough life.

Thank you mabus. Yeah i need to drink less coffee. I have about 3 cups a day with 2 tea spoons of sugar, if instead i drank 3 cups of green tea with honey i think i would see quicker results.

3k is pretty low, for me one step is 0.75m so 3000 steps is about 2.25 kms.

Yeah, i need to be more mindful of how much i move. I might just start doing 20 minute walks every day starting in october and compare the monthly steps. Maybe seeing that i am making progress will help.

I'm saying it sounds way too high. 2600 is not sedentary calories burn. That's for a fairly active person. Also 3k steps is really low. I did 8k today and that's just me when I do my office job. I don't bring it with me when I play basketball or whatever.
