I haven't played a fighting game in a long ass time. I heard there's a bunch of still to do in single player and it feels like Monster Hunter in terms of a lot of things that'll keep you busy. I like games where theres a lot of things to do. Need opinions on Mortal Kombat 11. It's on Steam for $14.99

Gameplay and mechanics wise it is a huge step down from previous ones.

It's got a ok story if like time travel shenanigans. But 9 and 10 are better otherwise

There's a lot of grinding to unlock brutalities, outros, intros, and gear if that's what you're talking about. As far as the gameplay goes, it feels very limited and combos are really short.

I much preferred X and Injustice 2.

I loved it. The fights are more focused on footsies and such than just trading endless combos.

Story is excellent and it's loaded af with customization and fight modes, but the biggest downside is it is INSANELY grindy to a degree that the devs sneakily intended it that way so they could put in their "timesavers" for $2, $5, $10, etc.

Combo frames and attack windows are very unforgiving for amateurs so you definitely need to learn the mechanics if you intend to play online or, at least the Kombat towers for single player.

Buy only the UE at $20 or less but expect to grind a fuck ton for everything.

It's $23.99 on Steam for ultimate edition. Sale ends in hour and a half. Like I said I havent played a fighting game like MK, SF, etc. in a long time like 20 years. Is it still worth it?

If you don't play fighting games much, then don't buy it, you won't be missing anything groundbreaking.

I enjoyed it. I see videos of MK10 compared to MK11, and MK10 looks really fast paced. never played 10 tho so Im not sure how it felt gameplay wise

MK9 and MKX, gameplay wise, you can do so much stuff but it's honestly a very oppressive game. When one character gets the momentum, it's hard to stop them. What you end up seeing a lot is one sided fights. MK11 definately toned things down a lot, but honestly it made the game more footsie and strike throw based instead of wombo combo the previous installments were.

It's the best looking MK game by far and the story is servicable even though yes it does take some questionable directions none was as stupid as having Sindel kill the majority of the cast in MK9. It has some of the better single player content for a fighting game with a very active online community if you want to go competitively.
