There needs to be a constitutional amendment prohibiting bills that contain hidden amendments that have nothing to do with the principle of the bill.

beyond the fact you'd never get that passed, it would cripple the legislature beyond repair.

you've got to keep in mind that each member isn't elected to be a collective body supporting the federal government, they're elected to force the federal government to cater to their specific state or districts needs. you remove the ability to add riders and porkfat and suddenly the legislature loses its only tool to get the body to work together, because you're not going to get a legislator to sign onto a bill that is "for the good of the nation" if it doesn't have some form of incentive to the people that voted for them.

an obvious example would be NASA. removing riders would kill NASA because they only get funding by adding riders that spread out where they draw resources. if some congressman from a flyover state isn't able to shoehorn in a rider forcing NASA to buy flight stabilizer parts from their district then they're just not going to vote for it.

Crypto doesn't create value. For every winner investing in it there are losers.

Bitcoin does not destroy the environment. Inflation does. Bitcoin is ironically good for the planet.

Why can we not get an infrastructure bill that raises wages and drives down the cost of living? Thats kind of the biggest issue here. Maybe force the billionaires to start paying their fair share.

Trump changed things to where the little guy cant donate what he can afford and still get a tax write off. You have to donate $12,000+. If you have $12,000 of disposable income, youre doing pretty well for yourself. Now, you cant donate $2,000 and get a tax credit. We should abolish that and make it to where you dont get credited for donating more than $100,000. This is the loophole that the rich use to side step paying taxes. They donate to their friends charity, then they avoid paying taxes. Then add to the infrastructure bill a massive reduction in military spending. Then we might have a fighting chance if the government starts focusing on us for a change, rather than the rich.
