Have you ever turned off the music in a game?

I generally do for grindy games like destiny or the division after awhile.

I sometimes turned the music off in WWF No Mercy on Nintendo 64.

The previous WWF game and the two WCW games made by AKI all had good music. Then the last game went with some techno music that's honestly mildly annoying after a while.

Doom 3.

When I first played it I was like "what the fuck? no music?" Because music is a big part of what made the previous Doom games so badass.

But I quickly realized that music would have totally ruined the atmosphere of Doom 3.
