Lollapalooza came and went and nothing happened. Every single of them were either vaxxed or had to provide a negative CoVid test as recent as 3 days old. Everyone without a mask and nothing happened. No delta either.

I'd say leave the antis to their fate and ask the government why they continue to put restrictions where events like Lollapalooza already pretty much prove we've reached herd immunity. Cause it's not the antis that are dragging this out, it's the government and mass media.

There is literally no need to. Even if every last person is vaccinated TPTB will find someway to stretch the hysteria for another year. More variants, more boosters, more scapegoats.

Send em all to some islands or something. I guess Hawaii since it's already part of the US so it'll probably be easier to get it done.
Not that they deserve a nice place like Hawaii, but it's best isolated island place I got.
And we can pay for all the vaccinated people in Hawaii to move to the mainland. I know it sucks leaving a nice place like Hawaii, but you're just going to have to take one for the team here..

The US government isn't known to pass up using a good crisis to make a power grab. Might as well squeeze out a few more precedents of authoritarian control while they still can.The Patriot Act wasn't thaaat long ago guys.

Honestly, I wish I could see into an alternate timeline where the government/media hadn't pushed for vaccinations as hard. People are dang stubborn and as soon as it became politicized it turned off half the nation to vaccines. If they had just made it known they were available I wonder if people would have been more receptive?

I am curious why all of a sudden it is necessary to possess both a PhD in Virology and Epidemiology to ask questions about how your government/government organizations are handling a crisis in your nation.

I see where people come from with whole notion of just "trust the science"/"don't ask questions" because of course not everyone has a basic understanding of science. However, the ease with which an authority can take advantage of that sentiment is a bit worrisome.

Regardless as someone who has done undergrad + some masters work in Biochem laboratories, I did have some questions along the past year or so that I've yet to receive satisfactory answers to. I've just been told to "trust the science" even though my questions are just pertaining to the scientific methods used by the CDC to come to their various conclusions.

For example back in the Clorox shortage days of Spring 2020, the CDC stated that Covid could survive for days, perhaps as long as a week on surfaces. Hence, Clorox shortages. A month or so later they altered that statement to say it was instead more along the lines of hours, not days.

At this point I just assumed that perhaps bureaucratic red tape had jumbled up the scientific research at the CDC. But to this day I've never gotten an answer as to how they messed up so badly about the life of the virus.

A simple study of spreading the virus onto various surfaces in a controlled environment and checking back on it at time intervals would have shown very clearly the life span of the virus. Then of course you could go on to add different variables of light exposure, heat, humidity, etc.

But how on earth did the CDC completely botch it by such a large margin? At that point when I couldn't get an answer to how/why they were so off, even including a margin of caution and overestimating by 10-15% you'd never arrive at weeks instead of hours.

From there on out I was a bit more skeptical of the CDC. While I still followed mandates and didn't actively speak out against them as I did trust their motivations for protecting people, the incompetency of science and ever evolving narrative has weakened my faith in the CDC as a whole

That doesn't prove national herd immunity at all. That proves heard immunity was achieved at that concert and only that concert.
