my baby only sleeps if hes being held, or if hes in his car seat.

his crib? fuck this shit
this expensive ass baby swing? fuck this shit

but his car seat? thats it manye.

i also put a rolled up blanket in there to keep his head up

but im at least not leaving him unattended in it. but he can at least sleep longer because if we're holding, we still have to get up to do things because we're not robots and then he gets fussy.

doctors tell parents about sudden infant death syndrome, say theres no known reason for it, and then tell them to prevent sids they can probably maybe do things to maybe stop them from suffocating, like not having a blanket in the crib with them, having them sleep face down, sleeping in a bed with a parent, not sleeping perfectly flat.

so youd think, oh, is the cause of SIDS suffocation then? nope. its not.

so why do they hound new parents about this day at night? i dunno, to be assholes i guess. also because i guess some parent let their kid hang themselves with a blanket and how else do you tell a parent to not do that

How old? My newborn hated his crib too. We'd have to rock him into a deep sleep for like a dang hour before he would go in the crib.

Wasnt gonna fick around with SIDS tho.

Tbh I don't think you should be doing this one if you're intending him to go to sleep.

Not sure why the car seat would be a problem though.

I hear ya. Our daughter slept in bed with us for a long time because she just would not fall asleep on her own. It worked for us, but we felt like we couldn't talk about it to anyone because of all the SIDS paranoia, despite the fact that the vast majority of deaths while bedsharing are caused by factors we avoided, like taking sleeping aids or having a pillow near their head.
