if an afterlife exists, idk if we're currently at the stage to extract any kinda physical evidence from it, so C, as far as we currently know.

there are accounts from some people that are similar to others who have had near death experiences/were revived, but they're not uniform across all people who have had those experiences, so I dunno how meaningful that is.

No, you don't. Your hippocampus literally hasn't developed enough to form enough synaptic connections with other brain structures with the limbic system and cortical spaces required for forming long term memories. Humans cannot form memories until about 4 years old. This phenomenon is called infantile amnesia. Any basic googling or researching will lead you teach you this.

Anyone who claims they have memories as a baby is literally just embarrassing themselves, although I'm assuming their partivular social circles wouldnt know either

Id say a bit earlier than that. I moved to japan a few months after my brother was born in 1999. I was born 1996. i still remember some events prior to moving involving relatives that never set foot in japan so id have been less than 4 years old at the time.

4 is the average. Some can remember younger, others can't remember anything from before 7 years old.

However memory is a sketchy subject. Mandela effect memes aside, people are absolutely sure of things in their memories that never actually happened. You can totally remember something from your infancy because your brain made it up later.

Things get a little weird when other people can corroborate their memories though.

Additionally the younger you are, the easier it is to remember your infancy. Children who are two years old can remember things that happened a year ago with regularity.

There is one way to find out if a afterlife is possible though. If we can transfer our concious into something else ala robocop or into a clone body this the possibility for sure would be open ended. Mainly cause we don't know if dark matter is a possible conduit to what we would call the afterlife.

As an aside, not that anyone here is guilty of this, but "they won't remember anything" in addition to not being completely accurate, is a dangerous tagline frequently used to justify the sexual abuse of toddlers. The less stuff like this gets repeated, the better it is for everyone.

Depends how you define afterlife. Energy, as we currently understand it, can neither be created nor destroyed. Anything purporting the opposite is purely speculative as of right now.

If energy cannot be destroyed, the energy that makes up the cells in our bodies cannot be destroyed. If time is infinite, as it very well could be, then every eventuality, no matter how unlikely, will eventually come to pass. This includes all of the energy that currently makes up your brains cells coming back together to form a brain again eons from now, granting you a second life, and in fact, an infinite amount of lives, and in fact, the life you have now, surrounded by the same people in the same bodies with the same energy making up the same brain cells in the same planet also made up of the same energy.

Obviously, all of these lives are almost certain to take place a near infinite amount of time apart from each other, but if time is infinite and energy cannot be destroyed, you will experience life again after life and the kicker is you wont experience the eons in between lives because you wont exist during that time.

And the weird part is that, if time is infinite into the past as well, youve already experienced an infinite amount of the life youre currently living.

^ energy cannot be created or destroyed but it can be wasted into an unusable state. Long term we will end up with something known as the heat death of the universe.

Your cells are matter, not energy. If they ever become energy, they would retain nothing of the information that the energy was from matter that made cells.

There's no point to saying that "energy" is ever going to be "you" again. Your memories are gone.

Sure, Ill bite.

In theory, actually, you could experience the longest possible form of your life by design ~ depending on whether or not we are in the primary universe, and if that longest timeline actually nipped the others from the future by simply outweighing their existence by it existing in the first place, or maybe it loops into itself thus cutting the others out. It also depends on how consciousness works on a meta level. In other words: parallel universes.... while (x) creature died in your world, in its primary world it lived on infinitely until all possible situations had come to pass and then theoretically collapsed back in on itself ~ experiencing all the ways it *could* have died, in reverse. Another possibility is reincarnation, we go from 0 to 100: experiencing all of our possible deaths until we reach the ultimate universe in which we never die, and potentially get to experience the rebirth of reality itself. This places a lot of importance on the individual though and calls into question an idea of equality. Are there realities where we get to be other people and would all of that happen in a set sequence? So, thats sort of an intentionally hobbled crash course in a cascading pyramid theory.

Your cells are energy at the end of the day. Matter is just a different way of storing energy. You can find out how much energy is in your cells by that handy equation some idiot came up with I think it goes something like E=mc^2

In order for your body to retain corporeal existence in the event of death, I can only imagine that it would have to hold incorporeal qualities while alive.

That sounds like a terrible way to live.
