You dont have to do a bar.

basically, forget the first 2 strings. Hold down three to four notes from the bar with each finger (D string, G string, B string, and the high pitch E string) ~ or you can omit the D string to make it easier. I actually use this chord a LOT. I love it.

A chord is at least three notes played in unison. 2 notes is just a harmony, but can still be used just like a chord. Metal contains a LOT of harmonies where people THINK theyre playing power chords.

I know TC, I'm sorry. I looked up some weird chords and chose the silliest ones. I don't have a clue how to play those myself.

Idk, try like a AGE chord progression. One of my favorite songs' main riff is literally just that. And it works so well.

Yeah I was fiddling around a bit and started to get ideas, simple chords buy yeh. Also Ill take the liberty to change things up for thr bridge and chlrus but Ill keep the base for the verses mostly in tact to the verses.

Im also curious on the ABCD with B being B7, but I didnt get an instant feel to it.

This is what I did for a long time because I suck at barring. Especially for F.

C
Am
F
G

Classic structure that I jammed to the most back in the day.

D
Bm
A
G

Is a fun one

I don't remember the names of the chords but it's super easy..

G
Em/G?
C/G?
D

You essentially don't move your pinky from it's place in the G chord.. And move your index and middle finger into the positions for G, Em and C.

So..

3

And then D.

I also like to just go

3

0

3

I am not sure what that does to alter the G.. Or if it's just a different kind of G.. But it sounds nice..

I obviously know very little theory. Lol.

I dont really understand this topic. You cant turn random chords into a melody. Its like hitting random keys on a piano. Its either already going to be a melody, or it isnt.

For instance G, D, A minor, C. Those are just chords, but they sound nice together, hence it makes a melody. Random chords sound like noise by themselves. If you added bass and vocals you could maybe build a melody around some random chords, but a chord progression is called as such because the chords already work together to form a melody.

TL;DR thats why scales exist. So you know which chords play nice together. The melody is formed as soon as you string any of those chords together.
