The TL;DR is that ABC did an interview with a survivor who went out an employees only exit, heard the shooting getting closer so blocked the door shut and ran, and heard pounding on the door after. I can't fucking imagine the guilt they have :/

Reading more, they blocked the exit to protect the 20 people crammed into the alleyway trying to get over a fence since they could hear the gunshots getting closer

I mean yeah that sucks. I don't think I blame them though. That was a horrific situation and you can sit there and say "well I would do this or that" but until you're in the situation you just don't know.

I think I can understand their thought process.

like others said, probably heard the gunshots getting closer, and wanted to trap the shooter inside.

they probably didnt consider how many victims were still in the building.

I think it was more self preservation (buying time cause shooter cant come out that way now) without other victims even crossing the mind due to their fear for their own life.

Might be what you where trying to say Idk. But if so my wording makes more sense to me personally.

It does seem unlikely the shooter would have followed through the exit because then everyone else would be "free" to leave. Probably the wrong choice in the moment but we really have no place to judge.

Shoukd clarify I absolutely understand and don't blame them at all. But they surely blame themselves:/
