There is Romero being unprofessional and wanting it all to be fun and games, and wouldn't focus on designing games towards the end.

But then there was Carmack - who focused too much on work - micromanaging everything and firing people left and right, and taking his cat to a kill shelter because it got in the way of his work.

He comes off as the foundation of what would become the worst aspects of major game development.

Yeah, his cat peed on his couch, so he took it to a shelter because she was "having a net negative" on his life. When Romero told him it was a kill shelter and they'd likely put her down, he just shrugged and went back to work.

It's also getting a TV miniseries at some point, and even went through casting, but I guess was delayed due to Covid or something
