Okay, first you gotta get on all fours like a dog and tug at the tire with your teeth.

It's not hard, you literally just lift up the car and unscrew it. There is a manual with the spare tire kit

Loosen the bolts in a star pattern until theyre hand tight, find the jack, make sure its on the frame while lifting the car, jack it up, after theyre all hand tight unscrew by hand, remove the wheel, put the spare on, then do that entire process in reverse basically and tighten instead of loosen.

Pretty easy. Once you know how to do it shouldnt even take five minutes. Dont drive on the donut like you would a normal tire though. Id recommend you stay around 60 on it. Its a temporary thing not an actual replacement.

I'm not even sure how I learned. I think from a friend in high school. I had to change my tire so many damn times in college. It got to the point where I felt like I was so smooth with it that I could get it changed in 5 mins. Especially with a hydraulic jack.

  1. Place car in park, engage the parking brake and turn off the car
  2. Loosen lug nuts in a star pattern while car is on the ground
  3. Place jack under jack point next to the wheel you want to remove on the car and jack it up
  4. Lower car onto a jack stand if you can fit one underneath
  5. Chock wheel opposite of the one you are removing
  6. Remove wheel and place under car as added protection in case the car slips off the jack
  7. Put new/spare tire on
  8. Put on lug nuts but don't tighten them down all the way
  9. Remove tire from under the car and wheel chocks
  10. Raise car to remove jack stand
  11. Lower the car
  12. Use a torque wrench to torque lug nuts in a star pattern to the correct torque specification

Yes. I've always known "in theory" how to do it, and had to put it into practice a couple of months ago. I wasn't aware of the proper metal rod thingy for winding the jack up/down (it was dark, and the lever was stored in an unexpected spot) so had to kludge together a way to wind it with other gear, but ultimately, the mission was accomplished.

Also its real basic but if you have hubcaps take those off first

It's easy if the lug nuts aren't too tight. If they are fuck it, I'll just call someone instead fighting to get them loose.

Just step on the wrench in that case. If you have it jacked and secure its not gonna move. Just dont go crazy.

I believe if you go in a circle, you will end up over tightening the first ones, and under tightening the last ones.

But yeah, loosen the lugs first before jacking it up

Stops the tires turning when you're trying to loosen them, I assume.

I've never done it, makes sense though, especially if your lugnuts are very very tight.

At home with a proper jack and my tools, can change a tire in probably 2-3 minutes.

On the side of the road using the stupid screw jack, 15 minutes

You do that because the wheel is more secured while it's on the ground. If you do it after you jack the car up, it may be rather difficult to loosen them if they were tightened too much because the wheel may turn instead of just the nut loosening.

That... actually makes a lot of sense.
I'll give it a shot when I change out my brakes.
