Felt like Rise came out of nowhere as a great film and then the sequels just kept up the quality. Planet of the Apes is a weird franchise that feels like everyone knows about it but not many people talk about it in the same way they do about Terminator or Alien or whatever. Yet Planet of the Apes actually managed to make a bunch of great modern movies unlike those franchises.

Every movie that tries to build a "cinematic universe" and fails will eventually fall to the way side.

The second one is SO good. Kind of weird I've actually seen every movie in the Planet of the Apes series, including the originals . They really don't get talked about much.

The more I think about it the more amazing it is that the series managed to develop a blockbuster trilogy where the main cast are a bunch of intelligent apes and they're great characters that you feel for. Caesar is just a fantastic protagonist.
When it comes to everything Disney now own I think this is the one I'm the most sad about. I doubt Disney will ever bother doing anything with this franchise. It's such a weird franchise that must be pretty difficult to figure out so I doubt they'll try. --- Kind Regards, Darmik ... Copied to Clipboard!

They apparently are working on a sequel, albeit not with the same director (whos currently doing the Batman film).
