Crazy. Plus if you were a kid, that was still a lot of money. Like maybe a months worth of chores might earn it depending on rate of pay

I only ever had a few random action figures from He-Man. I know I used to have that Orko or whatever guy. The wizard. But I lost him in a move

For years I had a 2 headed villain that could punch his heads with opposing arms like they were arguing

And I had a mosquito man that drank blood. But a dog found it about 10 years ago and chewed that one up and broke his mosquito beak

Something about this is a myth but I dont remember what it was. I think maybe that tiger was in Big Jim but it originated in a toy line before it. Maybe. But I do know that cat mold has a ton of repaints.

Speaking of $20. The new GreySkull is on clearance for $24 if you can find anything more than an empty tag.

How is it a myth when the literal guy who made the toys explained it?

If only you still had them in good condition and that is thousands of dollars.

Just he-man himself complete in good condition is like $500 I think.

My parents sold them all at a garage sale. They were all pretty much in excellent condition.

Except for my AT-AT whose head was removed and used as a laser gun.

Awesome documentary, but not the full story.

https://youtu.be/0rddrwvJThQ

Heres the video. Battle Cat originated in the Tarzan toy line, not Big Jim. Big Jim imported him just like He-Man.

That may be but the director over the toyline said he took a big jim cat and painted it green.

Technically you both are correct.

The Big Jim used the same mold from the Tarzan line to make the tigers for the Big Jim toys.

But the Big Jim line didn't sell very well, so they literally took the ones that were molded but not yet painted from the cancelled next round of Big Jim toys and used them for Battle Cat.

I HIGHLY dispute the way this documentary frames the end of the line. He-Man wasnt killed by too many characters. It was straight up murdered by Transformers and GI Joe. The documentary doesnt even mention that. But the cartoon was buried to like weekday mornings by the end of 86. And Filmation had been horrible at introducing toys into the cartoon. Once their on-air presence started to fade, the new toy lines moved in. Personally, I was done with He-Man by 85 and so were all my friends. 1986 was probably the most competition the toy market has ever seen in terms of new lines and he- man got killed soon after.

I had he-man, transformers, g.i. joe and ninja turtles. The rise of these did not mean the end of heman.

Infact, ninja turtles and heman where the same size and easily played together.

I did recall think g.i. joe more posable than heman as a kid. They could have improved the figure posability.

Everything I see put Castle Grayskull at $26-$30 at the time, and that would mean it topped out around $80 in todays money. Sounds about right.

You could at least unscrew GI Joe figures and replace the o-rings. There's a site that sells the screws and rings. I don't think I ever had a He-Man figure break.

I had virtually ever He-Man figure as a kid, and only had one break on me, when I dropped it down the stair to my basement.
