Disclaimer: Not American, but I've been on CE long enough to have a basic grasp of things.

Some posts in another topic are saying about how you don't really have the right to bear arms if police are going to shoot you for it.

While that post is a hyperbole, it did got me thinking about it something else.

The 2nd amendment is to give the people a fighting chance in case the gov turns into tyranny, but if the response to that is for the police to ramp up their aggressiveness towards the people instead of checking themselves (since police never know if someone is carrying), then maybe the 2A has failed in it's purpose?

Idk, what are your thoughts?

Yea, but them getting spooked resulted in them being trigger happy and not being accountable for it.

Make cops subject to UCMJ. (Uniform code of military justice)
If any soldier shot an unarmed civilian, that soldier would get sent to prison.
Do not fire, unless fired upon.

It's a result of corruption allowing cops to do bad shit then people wanna fight back so now they are jumpy cause never know when a "gangbanger" is gonna decide he has a better chance of walking away alive if he just kills the cop.
