Shopping in the UK right now is the worst.

Apart from a handful of staff, no one is wearing masks and people look at you and talk shit to you for wearing one.

I'm not being sexist but it's mainly women who start insulting you in public about it.

Its crazy, covid Is still around, variants are spreading, your grandpa is still in danger

But they don't care, literally the only reason they wore a mask was because the law said so.

I swear most of the UK would be carrying a barrel of water, walk past someone on fire screaming for help as they slowly were burning to death and be like:

"Is there a law that says I have to save him? No? then what's in it for me? It's my water. Where's my compensation?" And then walk off leaving him to die in front of his kids.

Interesting. I thought it was just the US was like this. I'm in Florida and I wear mine (most people in stores dont) but people don't care to say anything. We all just mind our own business.

That's the thing I miss most about the US

That culture doesn't exist on the UK, people have no personal space or respect for each other

And theres no small talk or happiness. Just misery and insults and complaining

Even in the US I feel odd wearing a mask in public. I definitely get offensive looks although no one says anything.

I think new mask mandates will be coming up. They should have never ended. This shit is worse than ever and being vaccinated doesn't mean you can't spread it.

probably because i'm huge and have a generally unapproachable presence.

I never really stopped, and I was ambiguously in that group that never did masks anyway.

Only time ive said anything to someone was when I ran into a co worker at Wal-Mart and he had a mask on but it was below his mouth. I told him he didnt have to wear one so why on earth was he gonna wear one but wear it wrong

Ive only had a family member say that to me. Twice, I guess because they thought I didnt get it the first time, somehow.

Just say, "I have Covid but the mask helps prevent transmission to others."

If someone ever says that to me I'll just say "It's my choice to wear one, it's not your business."

Last week, my workplace took away the rule that said you had to wear a mask. I kept wearing mine this past week, and would be reminded by people quite frequently about how You know you dont need to wear that, right?

Then this last Friday (yesterday), an email went out saying masks are required again due to the Delta variant. So we went maskless for a week.
