I don't think they'll listen until it hits close to home. I have several members of my extended family that refused to get vaccinated (they're all in Texas). They've changed their tune now that my great uncle (grandmother's brother) is hospitalized with covid. He's still alive, but he's been hospitalized for over a month and the doctors are saying his lungs and liver are fucked. Now those vaccine refusers in the family are saying they're going to get the vaccine asap... Yeah...

At this point,, do it the hard way. Get big burly guys to go door to door and force it. If someone gets a bad side effect they get to sue you, but make it happen. Stop with this soft "how do we pressure them into doing it in a way we can pretend is of their own free will" and actually force it.

The left has never wanted to do anything this way. They always want to pretend they're offering a choice and people go along with it instead of mandating things to happen.

No law change is necessary. The SCOTUS justified forced vaxxes as part of the Constitutional provision to "promote the general welfare" - people really need to read the Constitution and HIPAA to see what they really say on this board - in 1905.

Polio still exists. Just because you can Google something doesn't mean you understand what you're talking about. It's really rare now in industrialized nations. Most first world nations have samples in isolation because they understand that you can't actually "eradicate" an virus you can only mitigate risk and contain it.

Identifying Polio carriers properly was a large part of dealing with the problem. The current day issue is a perceived need to bother healthy and well people while neglecting to restrict the movement of people who are actually infected. It doesn't really matter what medicine you use if people are wandering around touching everything and coughing on stuff because THAT'S how viruses mutate not this stupid hypothetical nonsense theories.

I don't really want to argue with you. I'm just pointing out that something is not a fact just because a tag line says it is so. Like, how can polio be eradicated if it still exists stateside? It's more accurate to say it has been contained and there have been no new infections in x amount of time because that is accurate and true. If you stop for a minute and logically think about what you posted, you will eventually realize it is impossible to logically reconcile something being eradicated (meaning zero instances of it exist) with the cold hard truth that there are vials of the stuff that absolutely exist (meaning more than one instance exists failing that logic check). The other stuff is just semantics.

I get that people don't actually post this stuff to think but rather have their views reinforced... But maybe search your viewpoints more honestly before inflicting your will upon others (the chilling implications of this thread). Ten years ago I would have been horrified to read some of what I'm seeing. These carelessness thoughts and deeda are presented as jokes and afterthoughts.

In every cycle of history, when human life and sanctity lose importance and meaning is when the truly bad things begin to happen. Well, how can small people affect such a set of things from occurring? Maybe by working harder to have bigger hearts and larger understanding through these tough times. It's ok to disagree with a viewpoint as long as you respect it and consider it -- who knows, maybe one day it may become your own. I think that is how the world can get better a little by little each day.

You know Vegy, crossed my mind when I read the most recent CDC numbers on a recent outbreak of the Delta variant in Massachusetts. Over 2/3 of the reported were fully vaccinated.

The biggest take away from that is wash your hands and wear a mask, even if you have been vaccinated. But since the rates of infection and other rates were also equal, maybe stop harassing people who haven't had a shot since it doesn't actually protect you from the Delta variant anyways. Vaccinated people pass it around at the same rate it seems, per CDC research.

Zero percent for that outbreak for either group. There's two charts at the bottom of that link... I like people to be able to make their own decisions. Seemed like a wash imo. That would make sense if the limiting factor was risk taking behaviors (no mask, touching everything without washing hands, poor social distancing).
