MACisBack 07/28/21 1:49:32 PM #1:	It has long intro about nothing. Then the story goes flat on its face and the character names are atrocious especially NPC. Then you get to the battle system, which is clunky, crappy, and tie in the fact you die if you run out of MP, just ughh! Never thought I would say this, but Star Ocean 3 sucks, and I bet I can guess the massive spoiler just based on the crappy names in this game. Which makes me not want to play anymore, coupled with the bad battle system and bad story they use to cover it up. I'll probably never try to finish this game without AR'ing the crap out of it to speed run it. Is Star Ocean 4 better? --- "There is wife assisted suicide. Solar_Crimson 07/28/21 1:54:08 PM #7:	I bought this game over a decade ago and got as far as the Kirlsa Caverns (or whatever it was called; where you had to control a turtle to move your cart or something), and stopped playing with the intention of coming back to it. I never did. And even if I tried, I'd probably have to start over from scratch, since I pretty much forgot the story. I kan level grind for hours in the first 2 because kombat is fun, as is the krafting. 3's stamina and normal/strong attack system might have worked, but the fact that using any magic or special moves push me kloser towards death by default make it all a big fucking "why??". Distance soft x charge with ice blade can basically carry you through all but the last fight of disc 1. And I like the battle system for 4 better though it's even more clunky feeling until you finally have more than 2 combat skills. In the end I got good with the blonde guy and combo'd like crazy. That running out of MP nonsense sounds like BS that would have made me quit though. I must have never run into it because Im not just overconservative elixers but MP as well. I think that one was a PS3 one, but I'm playing on Steam. Main character seems lame. Definitely dislike the battle system. But everything else in the game seems really cool and I like the game overall. I just got my 4th character and then saved the game. I'm not that far into it yet. I played the PS4 one years ago. From memory, I think I liked that one a lot better than the Last Hope. That one was my first Star Ocean game though.
