Try playing some older PC games on Windows 10, you won't be able to do it for many of them, not to mention that emulators for a particular system are by no means guaranteed. Need I remind you how xbox emulation is doing?

This. Compatibility mode works most of the time, and for the rare cases where it doesnt, a VM with an older version of windows does the trick
