i know its hard to fathom, but guys like me can't do anything but button-mash in fighting games. Our timing just sucks.

Ryu sucks in Smash, play a better character, you dont need the shoryu input. Smash is the most popular fighting game

You need to find better competitors. There's class of skills. At least in big games such as Mortal Kombat. It's automatic matched in these game I think.

In mortal combat and blaz blue I'm good imo but tekkan and a lot of anime fighters I am not very good with imo

I can beat Dmc5 on DMD and do great in a souls/souls like (usually)but I have had trouble getting used to certain fighters

A lot of other games use enemy patterns though to win, so that might be why so fighters seem so one sided.

Not everyone is capable of the same things. It's one those things that piss me off when playing COD. People will act like they're so skilled and not acknowledge that they fundamentally have better reaction time and more precise motor control. There's only so much people can try to improve on successfully.

Yeah im definitely worse with 3d fighters. And some inputs In 2d ones I struggle with like a half circle backwards plus punch to do a grapple move or way worse two half circles backwards. Just do full 360s please.

Also Idk why but input detection seems to be worse the older the game. I mess up sometimes in SF 2. Sf 1 forget about it I feel lucky if I pull off a special move

Learning them without a person/people to help you arent really worth it.

In sf4 it took me like 5 days to be able to do Headbut into Ultra for Balrog. Because I was following the command list and doing the combo that way is basically impossible.

Oh yeah combing into moves is a whole different beast compared to doing a single special move. I hate I can get to wbere I can pull it off flawlessly in training but go against even a CPU opponent and suddenly my fingers dont wanna cooperate

And some of work too much to practice. But I take no joy in being curbstomped all the time so if I struggle online I stick to single player. I might stick around if most of my losses where close fights though cause that means just a little practice would help and the fights themselves is kind of practice.

the Combos are always like 16-chain attacks with split second inputs otherwise you drop the combo. Look at skullgirls bread and butter combo, i couldnt even beat the tutorial. And thats the skill floor.

what that guy said about being more into RTS and shooters etc is true.

My biggest problem with fighting games is input lag.

You just need more time to learn the input latency of a fighting game before you can go versus, and even then, if its online, input lag can occur on another level.

My love of fighters comes from nostalgia of playing the hell out of 2 as a kid then the fact I drink a bit and I can't enjoy games with a story drunk as I'll forger details

I've always enjoyed how they build the characters and really personalize them. I pretty much play fighting games for visuals and lore.

I mean I like that too and ultimately why I like sf over mk. I like the characters more.

Hell drunk and in a slight pervy mood I bought dead or alive despite not being into 3d fighters not named soul calibur. Ended up actually liking some of the characters beyond their looks. Like hitomi (German Karate girl) became one of my favorite females and shes one of the least attractive imo (also one of the least sexualized). And Eliot. Brad grew on me especially with the scene of him and Eliot fighting over the last piece of food. Zack of course was good for his comic relief moments

Tokido is too but he used to play like 40 games at the same time

Fighting games and most pvp games are something I don't really enjoy playing... they just make me nervous to play them.

Much rather get my fix of action through single player stuff like Celeste

Haha, I stumbled upon DOA2 because of a Dreamcast package deal. Ayane is still my favorite. Yeah, I like Elliot. His combo string is pretty fun to pull off.

I suck at combos in 3d fighters far more than I do in 2d fighters sadly. It's just some stupid fun while I drink. I do love the graphics in 5 and 6 though. Like the sweat looks really good even though I feel that somehow was supposed to be a sexualized thing does nothing for me in that regard just looks good even if I question how they get so sweaty so quick

Need to have a good anti air too. They will learn to jump over them. But any really bad scrub in sf can be beat with hadokens and shryukens

I suck at combos. I can do some in 2d fighters but not so much in 3d. If you mean basic ones like ppk or even pp down k. Yeah I can do those

I usually play more characters than I dont in a fighter so more complex strings become harder to remember
