I won a couple Riot tournaments in S2 and 3. Best prize I got was $250 a $50 RP game card and the Ryze skin that was only for tourney winners. All in all I made like a grand and prob like $500 RP cards or so.

Yeah, I was in some Blockbuster tournament over 25 years ago or so. I won the store on SNES, and the game was a timed special cart with DKC, Cly Fighter, and NBA Jam IIRC.

Then I got smoked at the regional tournament since it was all NBA Jam and I wasnt really super great at it.

I cant recall what the prizes were.

Define legit

I played in two college tournaments, placed second in one (SSB64) and won $50 to walmart (first prize was $100). Lost the second tourney (Brawl) in round 1 or 2 by a chaingrabbing scumbag, which is outlawed in "legit" tournaments, so I guess that means it wasn't really legit

Ive won some locals with no prize. And one time I placed in the money, but didnt win. Smash Bros. Melee, 4, and Ult.

Chaingrabbing isnt banned in tournament.

Yeah, won a few hundred euro a few times playing DotA Allstars and League of Legends.

A 63-man Smash tournament where 13 of the top 16 dropped out. Got a medal for it.

Lol, i was entered in that contest toi. I ranked #1 in NBA Jam at my store but did so pathetic on the other games that I was knocked into the mid rankings.

Dude holy fuck me too! I won my Blockbuster and then I was in the next bracket in New Jersey/PA and one other state. It was held at a MASSIVE arcade and there were tons of people playing NBA Jam. I remember losing in the semi finals and the dude I was playing say "you play just like my one friend".

For Prizes I got to pick one of a few games and I picked the TMNT Fighter Game which was really crappy.

I used to enter street fighter tournaments that a local game store would host I always picked either fei long or cammy they usually used Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo or Street Fighter 4. And I was literally asked to stop participating because a few people threw a fit after I made it to third place doing what they referred to as button mashing and not playing correctly. My prize was a 50 dollar gift certificate. 2nd Prize was 100 and 1st was 500 and you had to pay a 20 dollar entry fee. These people were genuinely mad and yelled at me after I beat them because I wasn't playing right. I was just playing the way I always played. It wasn't just one person there were like 5 who got together and complained and I didn't even play against some of them.

I've joined some various fighting game tournaments, a few ocarina of time randomizer race tournaments, and 1 or 2 other misc things

never done super well in any of them, all the games I'm actually good at are games no one plays lol

I don't know what you would all "crashing an organized online tournament and winning", but I've done that twice.

Just a couple college ones. I lost guitar hero on round 1 to the guy who ended up winning. Then I lost at smash bros before I even signed up because there was 1 slot left and 2 people in line. I was in front of the other person but they had us rock paper scissors for it and I lost that.

Oh and a couple pokemon card tourneys way back when and I think I lost everything. But that was hardly fair when I was 10 and up against 40-year-olds and people who had more than 4 of the same pokemon in the deck.

I've won a few Melee and Soul Calibur 2 tournaments back in the past, but IDK if I'd consider them legit since they were organized by people with no connections to the competitive scenes for those games and were mostly filled with casuals.
