Record of the Lodoss War and Slayers. Lodoss for a more serious take, Slayers for a more comedic take. Slayers is better overall imo, its one of my favorite anime, especially season 2.

Slayers is a good time, definitely a top tier anime. If I remember Lodoss correctly the main character, Pahn? Parm?, is fucking terrible.
