What the FUCK is the point of all these fucking scenes with the Deep?

They're bringing the show down for me

Pointless, gross, not funny at all, and he hasn't had any bearing on the story since getting kicked off the seven

This is gonna be a dumbass "this looks like a job for aquaman" trope isn't it, where the seemingly useless character ends up being the right guy for a job

Yeah I finished it

Last couple episodes were really good and I would rate season 2 higher than season 1

There was some tropey stuff like Maeve been a deus ex machina twice, but overall the writing was just really good and they managed to stick the landing at the end despite juggling even more plot threads than they did in season 1

The collective stuff is still whatever to me but deep getting a-train involved ended up being critical

I liked the twist, made me go back to the hearing scene and notice something I didn't notice before

Gonna be interesting to see where the writers take it from here. I could see them pulling 2 more seasons outta the show

It's to show that even a gross borderline rapist has sympathetic qualities, so remember this the next time a metoo scandal arises.

No but really I think it's just to add to the dark comedy vibe of The Boys.

It would be funny though if he had a redemption arc where he sacrifices himself to help or save the protagonists in some way.

And the whole organized cult bit in season 2 was great. I loved how hilarious that was.
