My old go-to place i'd buy liquor from over the last few years has gone from like 90% beer and 10% seltzer to about 60/40 now and they stopped carrying some good beers. I'm sure it's all based around sales and whatnot, they gotta make money where it's being made, but still. It oversaturated fast and now like TC said, there are way too many varieties now for it being just seltzer. At least beer you have ale, lager, IPA, dunkel, and a ton of other varieties, same with wine. Seltzer is just flavors but it all basically tastes the same.

Light beer gets a bad rep mostly thanks to Anheuser products like Bud Light or Busch Light. Or just straight up trash brands like Keystone Light. Theres plenty of fairly good 4-5% beer available.
