I'm gonna move soon and I'll either be in the 1,101-1,400 or 1,401-1,800 range depending on which complex I move to

if I end up w/ the latter I might consider getting a roommate at some point

We own the land but yes that is how property ownership works, there is a tax to live there, a property tax.

1461 a month, not including electricity for a one bedroom in jersey. Which is higher then normal but by less then a hundred bucks.

About US$790 per month (exact cost is NZ$260 per week). Includes water, but not power or internet - and the power is supplied via the landlord who I'm pretty sure is adding markup to it, even though that's illegal for landlords to do here.
