I saw this video recently on it. Apparently there is some merit to it when I looked up more about it. They describe it as a massive EMP hitting the Earth in the form of a Solar Flare. This video feels like its heavy fear mongering but Im too ignorant to know if it is or not.

What do you guys know about this subject CE? Is it something to be concerned about?

they've happened before. they'll happen again. and it'll be disastrous.

but i don't think we can predict these things four days in advance, let alone four years.

For 20 years, radio personality and successor to Art Bell, George Norry has criticized the US government for cutting costs and refusing to make the national power grid EMP proof. Just because they don't want to spend all that money and they never thought something like this would actually happen

Wasn't there a global EMP burst from the sun in the 1800s and just nobody noticed at the time?

no, they noticed. it fried the telegraph lines.

the next time it happens, it'll kill most of the satellites, the power grid, vehicles, computers, and a whole lot of people who depend on those things not being offline for more than a few hours at a time.

thankfully, the CMEs that cause them are pretty rare, and the earth is a relatively small target.

yeah, it destroyed a ton of telegraph lines. it would absolutely fuck our power grid if there was no forewarning.

Isn't a defense against it, to turn off electronics around the time of impact?

As in, if they killed generators and let them (fully) discharge before impact they'd be fine (relatively)?

I dont know if that would work for the massive EMP from a CME.

Now you know why no one cares about fixing infrastructure.

They figured this out so long ago that they decided it's best to horde materials and equipment in faraday cages and caves until it hits. That's why there's no new nuclear and the power grid is trash

Telecoms are relatively safe as they can pay off the equipment and replace in 2025. Also telecoms nature makes it really easy to patch up the network on boxes that work or dont work.

Hell, why do you think Colorado hasn't been drilled for oil yet and that half of the carborated vehicles in the military never got decommissioned?
