I saw this news story about global anti-semitism on the rise.

Do they have a dark history of evil? I usually just see them as Seinfeld writers overanalyzing social situations.

It's easier to hate people who aren't tied to a national identity because they can't fight back as well... this is a historical reason for anti semitism anyway

xenophobia has a lot to do with it. it's like how racist people in america don't like immigrants that don't assimilate. jewish people throughout history often lived in enclaves instead of assimilating into the local ethnicity (obviously, since if they did, they wouldn't necessarily be jewish anymore). same thing with the roma and other groups that don't have a nation and instead moved around

basically "this is america, speak american" except taken up to 11, cause people are fucking stupid and are afraid of people that are different from them

Why do anti semites complain about Jews being greedy, while praising other greedy rich people?

I had a girl in my Uber who was Jewish, say that the reason people don't like Jews is that some religions werent allowed to have banks/loaners. Jews took that opportunity and then became the bank for alot of people and people hate the bill collectors.

Also due to my own research, Jesus didn't like the money changers, and Jews used to force people in order to pray at certain holy sites to convert their cash to Jewish money, and they would do that to rip people off. That stuck for 2000 years and counting.

Because they see Jews as being unfairly successful, taking advantage of others to get ahead.

It's not just Jews either, you see this with a lot of minorities in other parts of the world

I don't want to quote a troll account, but for anyone interested, muslims rescued the jews in spain/portugal from christian inquisition and moved them to north africa, creating an entire subculture of jewish people (sephardi)

so it's not as simple as "muslims hate jews" when christian nations have been very antisemitic throughout history, and often more so than any muslim ones

Not a troll account. And the church does unfortunately have a complicated history that includes antisemitism. However, by far the bulk of the antisemitism I see today comes from either far-left or Muslim sources. Historical antisemitism is a broader topic than is probably worth talking about here

At the moment, any claims of anti-semitism is a scapegoat/dismissal by those in Israel who are supporting the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people. Kind of ironic, given Jewish history and all. That aside, the whole situation is disgusting.
