Didnt think of that, I guess the NSA is more for spying on foreigners. Does that mean the NSA doesnt spy on American citizens but other agencies do?

If a President or someone high up in the executive branch wanted a particular American targeted on domestic soil, they would have a far easier time tasking the domestic agencies with doing it since they would have more authorities to do so.

Like I'm not going to pretend corruption doesn't exists, etc. etc. it's just that it would be easier for a corrupt president to go after Tucker or leftist activists with the FBI because it affords more plausible deniability.

Out of curiosity, are you saying they dont still have and use programs like Prism and Xkeyscore or that other agencies would have an even easier time doing it?

To my understanding those programs aren't used to target specific American citizens unless approved by a Fisa court warrant, but the programs itself catches the data of everyone else regardless of whether they were specifically targeted or not.

I think my favorite line in that is "Tucker Carlson has never been an intelligence target".

I know this isn't what they mean but it almost reads like they don't think he's intelligent enough to target.

I wouldnt be surprised if theres several NSA agents spying on friends & family, especially girlfriends/wives. Theres gotta be some level of corruption going on.

but a big part of the leak was how they circumvented those FISA court warrants with backdoor courts that were essentially rubber stamps.

I could be wrong but Im pretty sure that was the other half of the issue in the domestic leaks.
