I preordered, subbed for a few months, hit max level, got some gear and did a bunch of story stuff.

I have no interest in time gating however and won't be resubbing till the next expansion.

I really don't think so. The design philosophy just isn't there. They keep doing the borrowed power thing, but the issue is that neither Azerite nor Covenants are as fun as the Artifacts were. They not only had fun stories with a lot of backup lore supporting them, they also encouraged doing different things by unlocking appearances. And they were far, far easier to balance because they were so personalized to each spec.

And they just don't fucking listen to the players. People in the beta of BFA said Azerite was garbage. From the fuckin' Blizzcon reveal, people voiced concerns that Covenants would be impossible to balance. I didn't care enough to go the optimal route, but it still kind of sucked knowing my poor little Venthyr warlock was outright worse than the completely tone-clashing Night Fae warlock he could have been.

The thing with WoW is the core gameplay is still good, but just keep shitting all over themselves with these shitty systems, bad story, and little vision for the classes. And worst of all it has just become a milking machine to get all the cash out of their playerbase while they still can with spending as little as possible.

It is like a person's body that is completely gone, but their mind is still functioning just fine.

Tbh, I think what really killed it for me was how lazy they got with mounts and cosmetics. It's kind of a microcosm of a major issue the game currently has. Like look at BC where finishing a rep grind like Ogri'la or Netherwing would get you six mounts on various colors. Now they make like six mounts per expansion, then spread the recolors all over the place.

I'm a completionist by nature but even I wasn't stoked to spend weeks or even months grinding anima to buy one recolor of a mount I already had.

I also will not be coming back after getting my AoTC this patch, I'm done with the game. No more maw, no more targhast, no more souls, no more garrison disguised as seasonal progression. Same shit, different expansion.

It's essentially WoW Satan, an entity called the Jailer who rules over the Maw. Sylvanas got into contact with him dome time in Legion and she's been funneling souls to him.

$186 million....most of which came from WoW sales....

Yikes. That doesn't leave much to the imagination as to what Hearthstone, HoTS, and Diablo brings to the table. Blizzard about to be disbanded in the next 10 years, you watch.

That's why I'm playing tbc classic. Already got my fill of shadowlands after 3 months and I don't see myself coming back. Plus being melee dps is god awful right now.
