I dont think there has ever been such a fall from grace in the gaming sphere ever. I've never seen such high promises and such poor execution. Sometimes ill just be going along through my day and I just randomly remember it exists, and I think of the sizzle reel they first showed showing the mind blowing amazing next gen crowds and city, and then comparing it to what we got.

I mean, what were they thinking. Why would they ever do that.

You should probably get over it. This isn't the first hyped game to fail on drop and let's face it, the game IS being fixed as we speak. Maybe you should stop letting something small like CP2077 blow your wee little mind so that way you can recover for a better tomorrow?

I like how we're six months past release and they still havemt done anything to fix all the broken skills. Still working on base level stuff to make it playable on a core level and not crash. Crazy man.

I think E.T. is probably the only comparable failure.

Maybe one day higher ups/publishers will learn not to rush game development and let the devs actually finish the game.

It won't be today though.

It's strange that of all the companies, Nintendo is the one that knows this lesson best
They forgot it during the Wii U days but yeah
And honestly I can't fault the devs, almost all bad decisions happen at a management level, when the higher ups want short term results

Yeah, it sucks that even now, Sony is only recommending it be played on the PS5, not the PS4. It's actually a fun game when you have hardware that can run it. Still not everything we hoped it would be, but fun all the same.

"fans" were sending death threats everytime the game was delayed, demanding it to be released sooner, so they got what they asked for; an unfinished game

I always feel bad for the visual artists on these types of games, because they obviously put a ton of work in and it isn't their fault the game was released broken.

If the game was only released on PC, the reception would of been much different. I wouldn't even be surprised if it won GOTY in a few places. The shitty ass console ports sealed the fate of how the game will be remembered.

I mean, come on bro.

The PC version is basic as fuck. Sure, the game runs fine and is beautiful but the core gameplay is bland and just not very good.

My opinion as someone who can run it fine is that the game is empty as fuck and mediocre at best. It's pretty to look at and very little else.

Very true.

It's sadly a game that's already been uninstalled on my PC.

It's honestly astounding just how badly they fumbled it. It's a fun game if you can run it properly, but it needed to be one of the best games of all time to match the hype that they cynically cultivated. Instead, it's playable at best.

The WAY it's bad is so weird, too. Like, it almost feels like they went out of the way to do it.

a formula that works wonders for ubisoft games etc.

so yeah, instead of garnering what little there praise there would be when measured against the competition, itll forever be remembered as a broken game because it was released on long obsolete platforms

I have no idea what issues Witcher 3 had at launch. Most of their goodwill is from that game but it had 1/10 the hype of cyberpunk and it was out for a while before it got really popular.

There were some glitches on launch, but by this time with the Witcher 3, they had not only fixed those glitches, but they had added several quality of life features that grew and enhanced the game, released free quests, as well as literal DLC that was big and worth playing.

So far for Cyberpunk, they're still trying to make it not broken enough so that it can be sold on the PSN store.

When put like that, you can see how massive a difference this game is compared to Witcher 3. It's an incredible fall. It would be like if Lebron James couldn't make a single basket in a game and constantly threw passes to the other team and didn't play defense and traveled all game.

Yeah it never made much sense how much people hyped this game up or hyped up CDPR as a company over one game which tbh wasnt the masterpiece it's made out to be either.

I stand by my opinion that it is a good game.

I've only had about less than a than a dozen game breaking(as in freezes or lockups that require restarting the console)bugs in 80+ hours I've played.

The game is amazingly fun it just gets annoying faster. Especially when you do hit a bug.

A lot of people act like this means the 9.5 star (if it had no bugs) game gets booted down to four or 5 maybe. I like to thinks it's just either or. It's the higher star at first and then drops off depending on the bugs.

I'm hoping Cyberpunk 2078 will be what Cyberpunk 2077 failed to be: a masterpiece.

The jump from Witcher 2 to 3 was immense. Perhaps Cyberpunk may be greatly improved in a sequel where there is less of a struggle to get the engine working at all.
