Chilling out, listening to the Allman Brothers, America, the Eagles, Bread, the OJays, the Isley Brothers, Santana, Christopher Cross, etc. Great music.

What the hell happened after 1979?

I don't think so, Tim.

Hair bands and the 80's happened. It wasn't so bad, I actually like everything up to about 2000. After that, shit just got wack.

The 2000s had some good stuff too. Late 2000s is when everything started going to hell

Billy Joel opened the floodgates with "It's Still Rock n Roll to Me" which was, in retrospect, a lie.

The real thing is, TC is to listen to your favorite bands anyways and not care that it's not 1979 anymore. 1979 is too short of a duration to live without wanting to relive it again. Better to just keep the 70's in your heart rather than to live in the past.

I see this posted a lot, but really nothing Ive ever been recommended stands out. Its like people can play instruments really good these days, but I cant find a rock song where the vocalist catches my ear enough or the tune itself. Everything seems to be melodic or about how fast they can shred.
